Notice to the Introduction of Pre-Clearance to the Service to Papua New Guinea

Due to there have been several troubles arising successively in releasing cargo in Papua New Guinea such as leaving payment for the cargo outstanding between shipper and consignee and pending cargo taking up a large amount of space in wharf and yard, The PNG Ports Corporation has announced the Introduction of Pre-Clearance at PNG ports.

From January 1st 2010, all cargo are required to be Pre-Cleared prior to the vessel's arrival at PNG ports. If you do not fill this requirement, your vehicle will not be allowed to be discharged at PNG ports and must be returned to the port of loading on board same vessel.

Please note that required documents for Pre-Clearance as following;

1. Commercial Invoice.
2. Bill of Landing (Original or Copy.)
3. Bank remittance stop or equivalent which proves your payment to us.
4. Bank remittance slip or equivalent which proves your payment for import tax.

*Please acknowledge that we, exporter, are not responsible for any loss or damage occur due above and we are not burdened with any incidental costs and charges including but not limited to the ocean freight back to the port of loading and any penalty or fine raised by the PNG Ports Corporation or other authority.

Beware of bogus online car dealers

According to the article on the East Africa, Bogus online car dealers have recently been swindling customers by pretending that they are winding up their firms due to the economic crisis.

Main Malicious Exploitation
Tanzanian investigators are reported the following problems.
1. A vehicle which a customer received was different from the vehicle you purchased.
2. Can not be in contact with the dealer after arranging your payment.
3. The dealer doesn't ship out a vehicle for a long period of time.

Avoid the following Dealers
The following points are effective, investigator said.
1. A dealer doesn't own a used car online shop. It may not be existing.
2. Phone number starts from "+81-90" or "+81-80". These number mean Mobile Phone.
Dealers can easily disappear.
3. Dealers' address can not be found on a website. They may be phantom.

As reported from Newspaper, some used car dealers are bogus. Please beware of them

New Regulation Starts for all the vehicle importers in Zambia

JEVIC inspection is required to import cars to Zambia from May 14th 2009

What is JEVIC (Japan Export Vehicle Inspection Center) inspection?
JEVIC is a Japanese registered company and has been involved in pre-shipment inspections / certification of used vehicles in various forms since 2001. Zambian government and Kenyan government require JEVIC inspection for the vehicles to be imported to the countries.

Inspection will be arranged by AGASTA before shipment. This may take up to 10 days depending on how busy the inspectors are. Booking of your vehicle for shipment will be arranged once the JEVIC inspection is completed.

Please pay the JEVIC Inspection arrangement fee of US$200 for Zambia and Kenya at the same time of payment for your vehicle. Please note that without JEVIC certificate, penalty of 15% of the total price will be charged.
